Occupy until He comes…

If you had told me that we would be where we are today in this world even a year ago I would have thought you were crazy. I look around me and barely recognize this world that we have called home for so many years. Pandemic, Quarantine, Riots, Violence and Mask ordinances have just come out of nowhere in such a short amount of time. These words have become a part of our every day vocabulary. I shake my head in slight disbelief that this is what our world has come to but it shouldn’t really be all that shocking. Especially for those of us who call ourselves Christians.

At some point we should know that the world was going to begin to decline. And for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and what the Bible says it should just be one more sign that it’s almost time to return to our true home. The return of the King is imminent. It will be soon. How soon is up to the Father as only he knows the day and the hour. But we can be prepared and take all those who will listen and heed to our voice with us. Isn’t this the ultimate goal? Spending eternity with the one who created us. The one who desires our love and devotion and who cares enough about us to provide us with hope and protection even in the midst of a world that has gone awry?

That is what I believe. We are literally in the last of the last days. And one day in the future I will rejoice with my family as we worship our Father God in His presence. Not just glimpeses of it but fully in his presence. We will get to reunite with our loved ones that have gone on before us. Those that have planted the seeds of faith into our lives and left us with a heritage of following Jesus.

But until that day comes we are told to occupy (Luke 19:13). But what does occupy really mean? Dictionary.com gives these definitions:

  • to take or fill up (space, time, etc.).
  • to engage or employ the mind, energy, or attention of.
  • to be a resident or tenant of; dwell in.
  • to take possession and control of (a place), as by military invasion.(usually initial capital letter) to participate in a protest about (a social or political issue), as by taking possession or control of buildings or public places that are symbolic of the issue.

So bascially we are to dwell in this earth until Jesus returns. But we are supposed to take possession and control of it as well. Which means we are to do the Father’s business wile we are here on the earth.

Here is the next question: what is the Father’s business?

Good question. The Bible tells us in Matthew 28:19-20 says: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

While on this earth we are to preach the gospel and do as Jesus commanded us. Jesus was the ultimate example of what we are supposed to do and he preached in Luke 4:18 that He came to “….preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” If that is what we he came to do and he is our example then we are supposed to do that as well.

We are called to bring hope to people who may not see or have hope. We are called to help bring healing and freedom to those who are sick and bound. We are called to remind people that Jesus will return and come back for his people. We HAVE to be the light to this world that has been darkened by sin and hate. This world that has accepted as normal those things that God has called immoral and wrong has blinded so many and we MUST speak the truth of God’s Word into this world. That, my friends is what we are supposed to be doing while we occupy this earth. Not just sitting back and waiting for Jesus to return. We still have work to do and we MUST do it.

How about we choose to remember what God has brought us out of so we can be the hope for someone else who may be going through something like we were. Let’s choose today to show God’s love to the people of this world. Let’s choose today to pray for those around us. Let’s choose today to be God’s hands, feet and mouth piece so that this world will know there is hope, there is healing, there is freedom and it comes in the name of Jesus Christ.

Aspiring in ALL Areas

Recently the Lord put some things on my heart to write about but I have yet to do it. Why? Well, mainly because some people will think that it is somewhat controversial. But its not just one topic He wants me to write about. He wants to write about ALL my passions.

There are some things I haven’t written about because of several reasons. One, I don’t like conflict and prefer to steer away from it. Two, some people feel that if you have strong opinions about something that means you are intolerant. Which in this case I guess you would call me intolerant because I do not agree with things that do not line up with the Word of God. And three, people think if you share these views it means you are a hater and do not love people which God commands us to do in His word. Of course none of those things are true. I love people and as I said previously I can not tolerate things that go against the Word of God. However, that does not mean I am not merciful, forgiving or loving towards people.

You can love people and not agree with them. I have a few friends that I love dearly and we would do whatever we can for each other but we do not agree on everything in life.

The Lord has also shown me that if I am truly aspiring to be ALL that he has created me to be that I can not ignore the passions I have because he put those inside me for a reason. Those who know me know what I believe and why but we have so many that no longer share with the world and no longer stand up for conservative values anymore. I heard someone say recently that we have lost a lot of the conservative voices. We no longer have people who refuse to back down in the public eye. Too many have given in to quickly.

As you have probably guessed, I’m talking about politics. I can not ignore this area of my life. Because honestly my faith integrates in every area of my life including my politics and we need more people like that. I know this could cause me to lose some readers and followers but I don’t care. I can not continue to ignore that area of my life. God has given me a passion about certain political topics and I believe that there is a reason he has done so. Instead of ignoring it you are going to hear about it.

Growing up my mother always taught me to have a voice in the political arena. Little did she know that it would one day come out in my blog and who knows where it will go from here. I am not saying this is all I will write about. I will still write about faith, homeschool, our life and everything else I enjoy writing about but I am adding politics to my writing. Of course I don’t expect everyone to agree with me but I just feel a strong passion in me about this subject in particular.

To those of you who will stay with me, thank you. I appreciate every single one of you. To those that decide to leave: Farewell and I pray God truly blesses you.

I look forward to where this journey will take me.

My Post-election 2012 Thoughts

This has been a tough week for some and a rewarding week for others. Here in the states we have voted and Obama has won re-election. Here is the place where I could go off and let my emotions take over and go on a tirade, but I am not going to do that. For one it will not accomplish anything what’s done is done. Secondly, it will only cause deeper rifts that may not be repairable.

Those who know me personally know that I voted for Romney and you know why that is. I am not going to repeat all of that here. I will say that I voted for the person who held the platform for the things I truly believe in. Those Christians who read their Bible’s and know what the word says knows which things I am talking about because you hold those very things dear yourselves.

I will say this. Now that the election is over what are you doing to do? Are you going to whine and complain about all that has come to pass? Or are you going to pray for our leaders like we are instructed to do in  1 Timothy 2:1-2.

Romney is just a man. Obama is just a man. But God is God. The Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the End. He has changed the hearts of many kings and rulers throughout history through men like Daniel. If we remember that this is HIS story and ask him what role we should play then we will be okay. God takes care of His children and He has a plan. Our job right now is to pray like never before. Get on our hands and knees and pray for repentance for our nation, for restoration and that the hearts of the people be turned back to God.

We can not live in fear over a man because MY God is much bigger than any man. He created man. He created this world. He created the rules we live by.

We must continue to hold strong to our values and our faith. Everything we do must start in ourselves and true change only comes through a heart change.

I am going to continue to live my life in prayer and following the plan that God has set before me in training my children in the Bible and what good values are. I will honor my Father’s command in serving our country by praying for our local and national leaders. I REFUSE to allow fear and people’s opinions to keep me from God’s best. I will hold on to the hope that I have that God will use this for good for His people.

This just might be the wake up call that our country needs to get the Christian community on their knees and to turn people’s hearts back to God.

What are we doing?

What is our nation doing. It’s destroying itself.  The senate passed the Hate Crimes legislation which is going to cause everyone to have to watch what they say lest the Fed’s show up on your door step. What happened to Free speech. Our countries constitution is being flushed down the drain by a few. When the majority of the people spoke up against the Hate Crimes legislation they ignored the “people”, you know, the ones that pay their salaries, to pass this thing. They locked out the Republicans, literally, by changing the locks on the doors earlier this week. How right is that? It reminds me of why we fought the Revolutionary war against England. We fought them because we had no representation when they passed taxes and changed laws and yet isn’t that what our own country is doing. It’s locking out the people who represent us. Is that not the same thing? It’s not right.

And what about those of us who get bashed daily because of our faith and because of our beliefs? We are expected to tolerate others lifestyles, faith, etc, but they refuse to tolerate those of us who do not agree with them. Not everyone feels this way. But the majority do. I’m saddened at what our country is coming too and I am praying that these next few years go by quickly because the legislation that is in “control” of our nation does not listen to the people they make their own choices whether the people back them or not. I pray that in the 2012 elections that we have a President that holds better morals and values and actually listens to the ones who pays his/her salary.

Anyway, that’s my humble opinion.

Stand Up

Have you ever noticed that when the Lord speaks to you its almost in the oddest places?

Wednesday while I was in the shower I just became overwhelmingly heavy and depressed and burdened down with something. I started thinking, “what is this?” and I felt the Lord speak to me and tell me that he has a burden for His children in America. We are slowly losing our freedoms. And its our own fault. One day we will wake up and our freedoms will be gone and we will have no one to blame but ourselves.

We have a tendency to think someone else will stand up for what’s right and then we look the other way. There is a time for turning the other cheek but there is also a time to fight. We as a nation need to turn back to God. We need to stand up for morals. Over the years we have set aside good old fashioned moral values to make way for “progress”. What’s progress if it causes us more harm than good. When did the government know better than parents what is best for our children? When did government know better than US about our own healthcare (which I have an opinion on but that’s a whole other post).

Our Bill of Rights are at risk. We are losing them slowly because we won’t stand up when we need to. I broke down into tears and just prayed that God would help me to write what He wants me to write. That I would say what He wants me to say. That I would do what He wants me to do. This life is not about “me” its about HIM.

WE, the body of Christ, need to make a stand all across this nation. Stand up for the babies that lose their lives daily. Stand up for the right to be able to preach the gospel without having to monitor our speech. Stand up for the right to bear arms to protect our families and pledge our allegiance to our nation and to our God and not to some man that is only in the White House for 4 years.

I pledge allegiance to the flag

of the United States of America

and to the republic for which it stands

ONE NATION UNDER GOD

Indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

We sing a song that says “God Bless America”, but how can God bless a nation that does not follow after Him?

I pray…..

God forgive America for turning its back on You. For not standing up for what’s right because we are afraid of what other people think. For not doing our God given duty and praying daily for our nation and our government officials. For loving our comforts and ourselves more than You.

Help us to stand up. Help us to turn back to you. Show us what we can do to make a mark on this nation to turn things around. Most of all help us to show this nation that we are still a CHRISTIAN nation.

When will we do what’s right?

When its too late?

11 Year Old Girls Tea Party Speech

This is speech is so true and I am so proud that this little girl stands up for her rights and what America is supposed to stand for.  There are many adults who believe everything she has said but refuse to stand up and say it. Watch and spread this around.

Homosexuality and the bible believing church

**NOTE: Please be aware that the following post is not like many of my light hearted posts but something I have been reading and praying about and felt I needed to post. This doesn’t mean that from now on I will not post some of my usual posts, however, I will be posting more about what the Lord has been showing me and teaching me and asking me to share with my readers. Also comments are welcome, but I ask that you please do so in a manner that does not attack nor uses vulgar language. If so I reserve the right to remove comments that are inappropriate. Discussion is welcome and I always enjoy reading your opinions or comments but let us keep in mind that we are adults and can agree/disagree without attacking or hurting others. Thank you.**

I’ve read within the past year of different “Christian” churches starting to accept the homosexual lifestyle. Many of these churches have claimed to be Bible believing churches previously. Also we have seen “new” churches spring up that cater to homosexuals and their lifestyle. I want to ask a question here. How does God feel about the homosexual lifestyle? Well lets look.

Most people already know about Sodom and Gomorrah and that God destroyed those cities. Most people use this in their arguments against homosexuality. But you rarely hear or read what the new testament says about this issue. I started reading last night about this issue because I wanted more than just Sodom and Gomorrah to back up my beliefs.  In Romans 1: 18 –31 It talks about God’s wrath being revealed against man and their wicked ways. In verse 27 (NKJV), emphasis added, it says

Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

In Romans it talks about homosexuality being shameful. If God sees it as shameful, then how can he approve of it and be okay with it.

1 Corinthians 6:9 & 10 (NKJV), emphasis added.

9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

In the above verse it talks about those who will NOT inherit the kingdom of heaven. So how then can a church accept that lifestyle and still consider themselves as a Bible believing church. From a Biblical stand point they can not.

Now the scripture speaks very clearly about the homosexual lifestyle. However, that does not mean we are not to love and try to reach a person who lives in this lifestyle for Christ.  Because God is clear that he forgives those who ask for forgiveness and he will cleanse them from their sins and help them to turn their lives around. That includes helping them to walk away from that lifestyle. If you read on in 1 Corinthians 6 it talks about that very thing in verse 11.

11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

People are not stuck in the homosexual lifestyle forever. There are many ministries out there that have a heart for the homosexual and help them to turn their lives around. So please do not take this as an attack against a person.

What does homosexuality say about our society?

Pat Robertson said in “Spiritual Answers to Hard Questions” in an earlier edition of the Spirit Filled Life Bible this statement:

From a Biblical stand point, the rise of homosexuality is a sign that a society is in the last stages of decay.”

Doesn’t that sound like our society right now? Our nation is fighting within itself whether or not marriage should be limited to a man and a woman. My personal beliefs are that marriage should only ever be between one man and one woman. That is the way it was designed from the very beginning. However, our modern tolerant society differs on that point.

It is a shame, that because of my personal belief, I am considered intolerant and closed minded.

Back to the church.

So you tell me, if a church “claims” to be a Bible believing, God fearing church, then how can it accept this lifestyle as okay?  In good consciousness it can not. Because a Bible believing church believes that the entire Bible is true and upholds that truth. A church that claims homosexuality is ok goes against the very grain of the Bible and how God designed us from the very beginning.

If you love your freedom america

Then you need to read this.. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=97208

This is enough to make anyone nervous. I’m seeing more and more reason to believe that this current President is trying to turn America into a Socialist Country instead of a democracy. The very system that voted him into office. God forbid that happen. Pray America. Pray like you have never prayed before.
