9781433690198The battle is real.

As brothers, Xavier and Evan are used to battling each other. But now they’re discovering that there is a much bigger battle going on all around them. And it’s their turn to fight. Based on Ephesians 6:10–18, The Prince Warriors is the first book in Priscilla Shirer’s epic new series that brings to life the invisible struggle ensuing in the spiritual realm. Xavier, Evan, and their friends have typical lives until they enter a mysterious land called Ahoratos. There they meet their guide, Ruwach, who offers wisdom and direction as the kids’ initial adventure begins—an adventure filled with armor and danger and a very real enemy.

Written by New York Times Best-Selling author Priscilla Shirer, The Prince Warriors series was created for middle-grade readers and will include the fiction trilogy as well asUnseen: The 365 Prince Warriors Devotional and the Unseen app.

My Review:

This book was so much fun to read. It reminds me a lot of something that C.S. Lewis might have written. It’s an awesome new adventure trilogy for a whole new generation.  This generation needs more stories that are full of fun, adventure and spiritual truths. Priscilla Shirer shows that she has tons of imagination and that made the whole thing worth reading.

I’m already planning on making this a read aloud for the new school year. It really would make a great family read aloud whether you homeschool or not. I suggest reading a chapter or two each evening before bedtime and make it a great bonding time for you and your kids.

I like that she leaves a lot of the images to the imagination but there is still some pictures in the books but not a lot. I can not wait for the next book in this series. I was very pleased with this first one.

Oh and before I forget there is an app you can download and it is kind of a like a devotional that you can use for even more family time.

I recommend picking this up for your 8-12 year olds. You can find out how to do that here.
