Jesus Today : Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young Giveaway & Review

About Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids9780718038052_image

Jesus is the Friend who is always with you.  Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids will pour this powerful truth into your children’s hearts as they learn that He knows everything about them and loves them more than they can imagine.  Each devotion is based on Scripture and is written as though Jesus is speaking directly to you, assuring that He is in control, that He is good, and that an amazing future awaits all who put their hope in Him.  Adapted from the ECPA 2013 Christian Book of the Year-winner Jesus Today, this devotional has the same themes as the adult version, as well as written-out scriptures.  It is a great choice for families to read and discuss during devotional time together.

My Review;

From best selling author of Jesus Calling comes her adaptation for kids of her devotional Jesus Today.  It’s full of fun colors and images.  There are tons of scriptures and short devotions written in her infamous style of Jesus talking to you rather than you just reading what he would have said.  It makes the devotions much more personal.  Since its an adaptation it is written in a way kids can understand. In my opinion this is a great resource for short devotions for families to use together.  It can open up some great discussion and Bible study.

I love the color choices and the fact that it’s a hardback which makes it much more sturdy for kids.  Each devotion is on a two page spread. One side is the devotion and the other has the scripture used that it is based off of.  Then throughout the book there are a few excerpts from her Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids.  I’ll be completely honest that I have never read any of her devotionals but while working at our local Christian book store her devotionals were our top selling book.  Many of my customers would talk about how much they loved them and at Christmas we sold tons of them.  So I was excited to read the kids version and now I can say I like this one.
