Nourished: A Search for Health, Happiness, and a Full Night’s Sleep
By Becky Johnson & Rachel Randolph / Zondervan
Why is life so hectic and draining? Drawing from interviews with friends and general research, this orderly daughter and laid-back mother duo addresses a woman’s most common daily stressors – imperfect body, home, relationships, schedules. With humor, honesty, and faith, they offer a breath of fresh air for readers of all generations and life stages who find themselves drained, discontent, and discouraged.
This book co-authored by the very funny Becky Johnson and her daughter Rachel Randolph was a much needed breath of fresh air for me. There are few times when a review book reaches into my soul and when they do it’s a very beautiful thing. This book did that for me. It was funny, and yet hit some really hard points with me. The section on relationships was one area that really hit me hard. Especially the chapter on friendship. When I read Rachel’s part of the chapter. I totally could relate to her. I felt as if I was reading about myself and it was hard for me to get through.
The whole book had a huge impact on me and will be one I will recommend to many women. In fact I may just have to re-read it to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
I loved reading about each of their applications to finding what nourished their souls, minds, and spirits. The differences between mother and daughter and the different life stages they are in make this book great for any woman regardless of what stage of life you are in at the moment.
This is a great book for the over-stressed and under-pressure woman. Whatever it is that is keeping you from being a “Nourished” woman this book will help you.
