The Daughter of Highland Hall, Edwardian Brides Series #2
By Carrie Turansky / Multnomah Books

This is a sequel to The Governess of Highland Hall. It continues where the story leaves off in the first book only you are now following the story of the oldest daughter of the deceased former Lord of Highland Hall, Katherine Ramsey.  This is an easy read and enjoyable. Carrie Turansky does a wonderful job of weaving this story leaving you to wonder how it will all work out in the end. I like happy endings and this does not disappoint.

In this book we are following the story of Katherine as it is her time of “coming out”. The age 424983_1_ftcwhere a young debutante is presented into society in order to find a suitable husband. Katherine is immediately swept away by a rich eligible bachelor but yet she is not sure if this is the right path for her. On her journey of self discovery she develops a friendship with a young medical student and finds that she deeply enjoys their time together. Could this friendship turn into something more? Will she follow her aunt’s desires to marry for money or will she follow her own heart and God’s plan for her life?

Personally, I believe if you enjoyed the first book in the series you will enjoy this one. I also believe that if the Downton Abbey time period is one you like reading about then you should definitely pick this book up. It’s a great book and I look forward to the next one in the series.
