|Willie’s Redneck Time Machine
By Tyndale KidsWillie finds a mysterious wooden crate in the Duck Commander® warehouse. Only John Luke is around, so the two of them open up the box and find a strange device. It turns out it’s a time machine that looks a bit like an outhouse. Willie and John Luke test out the machine and find themselves journeying back and forth in time. They have crazy adventures but know they need to make it back to West Monroe. But will they make the right choices to get back at the right time? Recommended for ages 8-12.
This was such a fun book. It really took me back to my childhood where we had those “Make Your Own Adventure” books. In Willie’s Redneck Time Machine you get to be Willie Robertson and you get to chose how the adventure goes. Because of that you can reread the book several times and have a different adventure. These are so much fun. Written by Willie and Kori’s son, John Luke, you get to see some fun and hilarious interactions between the members of the family. My kids laughed and at some time questioned the common sense of doing some of what was going on. It was a great experience. One I look forward to repeating.
I would say this would be a great book for your 8-12 year olds both boys and girls. As a mom it’s nice to see fun books for my kids to read. Especially when they can share the adventures together. We’ve been reading this book as a read-a-loud adventure where we can all share in the hilarity of the adventures. There are three other books in the series: Phil & the Ghost of Camp Ch-Yo-Ca, Si in Space, Jase & the Deadliest Hunt. In each book you can follow your own adventure and read and reread a dozen times or more if you so choose. These will make great gifts for birthdays or even to start stocking up for Christmas.
AND as an added bonus, Tyndale House Publishers has given me a second copy to give away to one lucky and blessed reader. Perfect timing, as I mentioned before, you can start stocking up for Christmas.
If you do not want to wait for the giveaway to end this is available for $8.19 (softcover) at Christianbook.com.
