Mom’s Night Out Movie

I took my sister with me to our VIP screening of the Mom’s Night Out Movie here in our town. I went with an expectation of laughing a whole lot. Having seen the trailer and the list of the cast I knew it was going to be a quality film. What I did not expect was the heart felt message and a connection between me and the main character Alyson.

Alyson is a mom of three who is living her dream, as am I, to be a wife and a mother. But Alyson is getting burned out. She is constantly trying to balance sanity with those moments of insanity of her kids being kids. So Alyson plans a mom’s night out in order to find some time for herself. However, things don’t exactly go as planned and Alyson learns that life is not perfect EVER. My favorite line from the entire movie is spoken by Sondra (played by Patricia Heaton), Alyson’s pastor’s wife who is giving her a word of encouragement.

“Life isn’t about a parking space. It’s not about God taking all our problems away and giving us a perfect life. It’s about finding meaning and joy and purpose. In this – in the crazy – in the chaos.”

You see Alyson, like myself, is a mommy blogger who is trying to not only be the “perfect” mommy but to find her voice. Alyson, feels as if she is a failure but what she will soon find out is that being a mom is hard and there is no specific right way to mom's night outdo the job. Being happy all the time is unrealistic and anyone who says otherwise is not being truthful. However, we can find joy, meaning and purpose in all the chaos.  We do have a voice and something to say.

Hang in there momma’s what you are doing is important.

I highly recommend for you all to write the date May 9th on your calendars so you can plan to go out and see Mom’s Night Out when it releases in theaters. You will laugh, you will cry and you will laugh so hard that you will cry. Not only is the story itself amazing in its own right but they pulled together an amazing cast.

Fans of Fireproof and Courageous will recognize Alex Kendrick (as Pastor Ray) and Robert Amaya (as Marco).  And acting along side of those two guys is a cast of Hollywood’s finest actor’s Patricia Heaton, Sean Astin, Sarah Drew,  Trace Adkins and many more. As a parent I am very pleased to inform you that this is a wholesome family film viewable for the entire family.

Don’t just take my word for it. Watch the official trailer below and start planning an outing for your friends, family and/or group. You will be so glad that you did.
