Christianity without Christ

I’ve been reading Lisa Bevere’s newest book that hasn’t technically come out yet. It will be soon in just a matter of days. You’ll hear all about it. I promise. I got this part and shared it on my Facebook page.

William Booth, the founder of the Salvation Army, was interviewed and asked what were his concerns for the church of the next century. Here’s what he said: "In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell." #GirlsWithSwords

It’s so true and to think this was a definite prophetic word for us today. How many of you like me are so tired of seeing all the church activities without any real church being a part of it? We are not even allowing the Holy Spirit room to move in our churches on a normal Sunday because we are so concerned about the schedule. (Acts 7:51)

Many people claim to be Christians but yet don’t follow Christ. (I Cor. 11:1) We are quick to forgive but are slow to actually repent and when we do repent we don’t truly mean it. (Acts 17:30) We just turn around and do the same thing again and then wonder why things are not changing. I know, I’ve done it.  We are quick to receive salvation but we do not grow. We don’t spend time in the Word and prayer and so our relationship with our heavenly father never grows.  (Col 1:10)

In our country right now so many are taking God out of the political arena. They say there is no room for him in politics that politics and religion should be separated. Yet this is the area where we need him most and those who honestly have a REAL relationship with Christ their beliefs will (should) follow them into every area of their life.

Then we have those who preach that we will all go to heaven and that hell is not a real place. However, the Bible is very clear that there is both a Heaven and a Hell. If you do not accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior then you are going to go to Hell. There is no other way around it. (John 14:6) Those who preach differently are called false prophets. The Bible talks about the abundance of them in the last days. (2 Peter 2:1; 1 John 4:1)

I know this will probably not be a very popular post but it’s the truth.

We must be careful not to water down or leave out God in any area of our lives. People are looking for REAL TRUTH, not a program or something that will make them feel good for a few hours. They want something that will last and if we are not careful in our desire to reach the unchurched, unsaved and hurting people of this world we will leave out the reason we are doing these things to begin with.

We must never feel that we have to water down God’s Word to reach the lost. God’s Word has stood for generations and generations. It can achieve its purpose without all our “help”.  We must never feel that we can just get people in church and that’s the end of it. We need discipleship.  We can not leave out God in our nation and we can not ignore the fact that there is a Hell in order to cause people to like us or come into our doors. We must stand firm on the Word of God and all that it contains. Even the most unpopular parts.

Please don’t think that I am a hater. I love people. I love people of all walks of life. I don’t agree with everyone’s lifestyles and beliefs but I will love them and tell them what the Word says.  The truth speaks for itself. God doesn’t need my help packaging it up all nice and neat. This world does not need sugar coating anymore. We’ve taken it WAY too far. We need straight up, honest to goodness, TRUTH. We need God. That’s it.
